Phase Zero establishes Underground's first structured gameplay framework.
This release introduces the core progression loop, infrastructure upgrades, and foundational systems required for long-term development. While refinement continues, the following systems are functionally implemented and undergoing controlled testing.
The current open server will remain available as a sandbox environment.
Phase Zero introduces a structured server intended for focused testing of progression, economy, and competitive systems.
Underground is a custom FiveM racing experience shaped by early-2000s street racing culture.
Modern and classic vehicles coexist within a progression-driven framework built around choice, identity, and competitive racing.
Underground is built around structured progression and competitive racing.
Vehicles are not disposable assets. Each build reflects time, tuning, and deliberate investment within a controlled economy.
Customization extends beyond parts. Interface elements, colors, patterns, gauges, audio systems, and visual accents can be configured, unlocked, or acquired through progression.
Underground's handling model is built around deliberate difficulty.
Cars require control, patience, and mechanical awareness. Grip is finite. Inputs matter. Mistakes cost time.
Progression is not just financial - it is skill-based. As drivers adapt, lap times fall. Speed is earned through mastery, not handed out through simplicity.
The system rewards control over aggression, consistency over chaos.
Public Playtest Announcement: the server is planned to open in the first week of March 2026 in a simplified playtest state so everyone can experience the current build and help shape what comes next.
Expect 30+ cars with unique handling and audio, deep visual customization, Time Attack tools, and 100+ km of roads in a sandbox-focused environment.
Core systems like economy/progression, structured racing, safehouse flow, and social features are still in active development. Watch the announcement video and keep feedback coming as we move toward full release.
Short, scannable updates as the site and project evolve. This page is scaffolded for now.
This post shares a cinematic gameplay reel focused on the visual direction and driving atmosphere we are shaping for Underground.
The footage captures current world integration, route flow, and the style benchmark we are using while broader systems continue to be refined.

The Modular Gauge system allows players to configure each gauge component individually.
Ring, background, needle, redline, tick marks, labels, and logo placement can be adjusted independently. Rather than relying on fixed presets, players construct their own layout from discrete parts.
Gauge components may be freely available, purchased, or unlocked through progression. Visual customization is treated as part of the build process, not separate from it.
The result is a customizable instrument cluster that feels integrated into the vehicle itself, not layered on top of it.
Performance remains the priority. Customization enhances presentation without compromising readability.
Underground will feature original music and gameplay audio created in collaboration with 2ADVANCED.
This includes custom race finish sound cues and in-game audio elements designed specifically for the Underground environment.
Select 2A tracks will also be available through the in-game MP3 player.
State of U.G.R.E and it's feature so far (Updated Feb 13 2026 1:19 AM, Updates Log Report)
(Previously known as Turbo Sim) (No update on it this time)
- Reworked
(For AWD and FWD only)
This update introduces several new core systems focused on accessibility, immersion, and player identity, while also laying the groundwork for future functionality. Alongside major backend upgrades, these changes aim to improve how players interact with the world, express progression, and access core features without unnecessary friction.
A major backend upgrade is underway. The server has been migrated from a limited hosted environment to a high-performance dedicated machine. This upgrade significantly increases available resources and is designed to support better overall performance, stability, and future player growth.
The new environment is currently running in admin-only mode while testing and refinement continue. The existing server will remain online for the time being to ensure a smooth transition.
A deep review of several core systems has been completed, focusing on long-standing edge cases and unintended behavior. These improvements are aimed at making gameplay interactions more consistent and reliable.
Players should experience smoother interactions and fewer unpredictable behaviors overall.
The PA Menu has been introduced: a highly customizable, full-screen menu accessible by parking your vehicle inside designated parking areas.
Designed as an intermediate system between the Quick Menu and the Safehouse, the PA Menu allows players to interact with most core systems without forcing a return to the safehouse, while also unlocking advanced functionality not available through the Quick Menu.
This system significantly improves accessibility while preserving immersion and flow during gameplay.
The PA Menu is part of a broader Dynamic Scenario System currently in development. This system allows for:
The goal is to make areas feel alive and reactive, even when player populations are low, while enabling environmental storytelling, lore-driven locations, special builds representing famous teams, and easter eggs and narrative details.
The current open server will remain available as a free testing environment, where players can continue to spawn and experiment with cars freely.
The new server will introduce a full progression-based economy:
The safe house will be accessible as part of this experience and will serve as a central hub for progression systems.
A new dealership system is being introduced, launching with one physical location (with more planned in the future).
The goal is a dealership experience that feels realistic, informative, and enjoyable.
A redesigned tuning menu will be accessible from inside the safe house.
This replaces the previous free-install model and ties vehicle upgrades directly into progression.
Progression now includes structured rewards. Reaching level milestones (such as level 10) will grant:
This system provides clear incentives and long-term goals.
Polishing and integrating all these custom maps into GTAV is a significant challenge. Fortunately, most of the core areas have now been successfully placed and interconnected, forming a cohesive layout. The world already features a diverse range of environments, including urban areas, vast highways, technical touge routes, parking areas, and various circuits for racing/drifting. Most locations are currently accessible by driving, and our long-term objective is to achieve at least 90% seamless connectivity across the entire map. While the project is still far from complete, development is steady and continuous.
All maps have been fully converted and enhanced by us. This includes accurate rescaling, improved road surface smoothness where possible, optimized tons of collision, fully custom lighting setups, minimap, custom traffic paths with believable behavior, themed traffic variations, additional environmental detailing, and restoration of original animated textures.
For the public playtest, we have temporarily included additional separated touge locations to compensate for the fact that the primary "touge area" remains heavily work in progress. The currently available routes are: Sadamine, Irohazaka, Akagi, Nagao, and Happogahara.
Below is a simple image showcasing the current development status of the map:
